Beyond that, customers want to have a helmet that protects headsets and prevents headsets from blowing backwards in the open wind. Sport-Link designed its line of GA Detach Helmets in response to this demand.
Sport-Link Detach helmets are designed for additional flexibility allowing the pilot to wear a headset alone or with a helmet. These models are the same as the Open-Face models with the exception that a channel is in the top of the liner to provide space for the headband of the headset to lay.

To size helmets we require three measurements: circumference, width, and length of the skull.
Circumference (measured around the middle of the forehead and then around the back of the head),
width (measured about 3/4" above the ears – this is the same as if a hole was drilled through the head),
and length (measured middle of the forehead to the back of the head – again as is a hole was drilled through the head).
These measurements can be made with the use of two framing squares with the head against the wall, or a set of calipers, or carefully with a bar clamp. We have to be specific that these measurements are NOT measured over the top of the head for the length and width. If we could
get these at least to the nearest 1/4", we will be better equipped to supply a helmet that fits the first time.
